Hugh Latimer was famous as a preacher. In the time of King Henry he was the bishop of Worcester. He urged men to upright living and devoutness in prayer. On October 16, 1555 when Mary came to throne he was burned along with Nicholas Ridley.

Nicholas Ridley became a priest soon after getting his degree. He later became a private chaplain first to Cranmer and then to King Henry and then a bishop of Rochester. He was part of the commitee that drew up the first English Book of Commonm Prayers. On October 16, 1555 when Mary came to throne; he was arrested and then burned with Nicholas Hugh Latimer.
